Effect of the Kneipp Lebensordnung Psychotherapy on Improving Resilience: Preliminary Validation

Abstract

|
Background: The new Kneipp Lebensordnung psychotherapy(KnLP) program needs to considering Korean culture and sentiments to improve resilience.
Purpose: This study aims to assess if the KnLP intervention program reorganized considering Korean culture and sentiments improves resilience.
Methods: The intervention with the KnLP that includes salutogenesis, logotherapy, meditation and resilience training was conduceted for four weeks for three hours in each session once a week for 25 adults. KRQ-53 (Korean Resilience Quotient-53) scores were obtained before and after the intervention to gain the intervention effect.
Results: The data from the only 9 of the 25 subjects were complete and it was used to draw a reliable analysis. The results shows that the KRQ-53 mean scores of the participants increased by 14.66 from 191.56 to 206.22 after the intervention. The increased score of each resilience factor was 5.89 in the self-regulation skills, 4.89 in the interpersonal skills, and 3.89 in the positive capacity.
Conclusions: The KnLP program was found to improve the resilience of the participants (p<.05), and more effective in the self-regulation skill. Further studies are required with many subjects to get the findings being more statistically significant.
